We mend hearts regardless of religion, gender or nationality
Save a Child’s Heart saves lives by improving the quality and accessibility of cardiac care for children. Through our programs in Israel, we provide life-saving cardiac treatment to children from developing countries and train health care professionals from these countries to have the skills to deliver quality care in their home communities.
Every day a child from a developing country is saved at Wolfson Medical Center in Holon, Israel, where the Save a Child’s Heart medical facilities are based. Thousands of children from developing countries are alive today because of a small group of medical professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to perform cardiac treatment and train medical personnel.
Ahmed is an 8-year-old boy from Gaza. He was admitted to the Wolfson Medical Center through SACH for treatment of his rheumatic heart disease. In May and in June of 2018, Ahmed underwent life-saving heart surgery in Israel. He had a complete surgical repair and a valve redo, and he is now happy and healthy!
Meet Mihret, 2-years-old from Ethiopia. He came to SACH for his congenital heart disease. Mihret was diagnosed with his heart condition at birth, but with the closest hospital being 3 hours away and not having the right doctor, he couldn’t get treated. In October 2018, Mihret underwent life-saving heart surgery in Israel. Mihret was one of the sweetest and friendliest children in the SACH house, and it was incredible seeing him grow stronger during his stay in Israel. We are excited to have given Mihret the chance to live the happy and healthy life he deserves!
Sabra is 6-years-old from Zanzibar. As a small child, Sabra was diagnosed with her congenital heart condition and was then referred to SACH. In September 2018, Sabra had her life-saving heart surgery in Israel. Sabra's parents and two siblings are grateful that we were able to help her. She enjoyed her time in Israel and is now back home with her healthy heart.
