Since this morning the climbers are out of internet or cell phone range. From the news I get from the tour company, today was an easy paced acclimatization day. They hiked over streams, a river gorge, and moorlands. They reached Camp 2 at 3840m which is located on the Shira Plateau, providing views of Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru. Hiking time was about 4 to 5 hours.
A group of 13 climbers is now on their way up the mountain, while I’m here in Tel Aviv writing this post. Am I jealous? Although they must be cold, tired and hungry… Yes!
