Our Impact

Save a Child's Heart

Save a Child’s Heart is fully dedicated to improving the quality of pediatric cardiac care for children from developing countries who suffer from heart disease. With our climbers committed to paying their own travel and climb expenses, 99% of funds generated from Climb Your Heart Out will go towards providing life saving heart surgeries for 100 children from Africa. Each donation helps us climb towards our $1 million dollar goal.  Give the gift of life and donate today.

Medical Mission:

As a part of the SACH mission to create centers of competence in pediatric cardiology, SACH leads surgical and teaching missions in developing countries. During the missions the medical team will work alongside local personnel, whom in many cases have already been trained in Israel, operating on children and sharing knowledge in the various related fields such as: cardiology, cardiac surgery, intensive care, anesthesia, perfusion and nursing.

In addition to raising funds to provide surgery for future patients, SACH herld a 7-day teaching and surgery mission in the Bugando Medical Center in Mwanza, Tanzania prior to the climb. Our team of 20 medical personnel  traveled to Tanzania to operate on eleven children suffering from heart disease.

The African Ascent Project

Every expedition up Mount Kilimanjaro is dependent on porters who, in most cases, work in substandard conditions. The African Ascent Project (AAP) addresses this issue and works towards uplifting the lives of the porters. Motivated by the age old Jewish tradition of Tikkun Olam, Save a Child’s Heart (SACH) will climb Kilimanjaro with a guiding company which abides by the Recommended Guidelines for Proper Porter Treatment. SACH has also partnered with AAP to leave a lasting legacy on Mount Kilimanjaro by donating 1% of its donations to fund a clothing rental site for porters at the gates of Kilimanjaro National Park in honour of the late Dr. Ami Cohen.
