On Sunday, September 4th 2011, the Sydney based Young Professionals Committee (Jodi Ginsberg, Peta-Lee Sacks, Bianca Spiegel, Jessica Timmins, Rose Timmins and Greg Shandler led by Yael Rosman) held SACH Australia's FIRST official fundraising event.
The event was held at Strike Bowling Bar King Street Wharf. It was a great success with almost 100 people between the ages of 20-30 years old from all walks of life attending the event. This was a great way to broaden SACH’s exposure in the wider community.
There were 4 major corporate sponsors, as well as a number of great raffle prize sponsors. Fantastic live entertainment was provided by one of the committee members', Greg Shandler and 2 of his band members from the band Drew Harris. This really added a great energy to the event!
The sponsors' logos were displayed on large screens around the bar and bowling alley, interspersed with photos of some of the children from SACH.
Everyone who attended had a really great time, enjoying the bowling with their teams, food, drinks, music and prizes! There was a lot of really nice feedback following the event, and people are really excited for this to become a regular annual event.
The committee raised close to $4000 in profit for SACH which is an exciting start towards their goal of raising $10,000 to save the life of 1 child.
