Dr. Vadim Hazin
Deputy Head of the Anesthesia Department

Dr. Vadim Khazin was born in Russia and studied medicine at the Second Moscow Medical Institute. 

 

He worked at several hospitals in Moscow before immigrating to Israel in 1990. Dr. Khazin has been at the Wolfson Medical Center since 1991, for the past four years as Deputy Head of the Department of Anesthesia.

 

Dr. Khazin has taken a fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto, and a further fellowship on the artificial heart in New York.  He has passed a course on transesophageal echocardiography in San Diego.

 

Dr. Khazin is the principal anesthesiologist involved with the Save a Child's Heart project, providing anesthesia to children operated on, both in Israel and overseas. Dr. Khazin was in the Ukraine most recently in June 2008 when he traveled with two other Save a Child's Heart staff members to investigate a potential future partnership and hospital facilities in Kharkov.
