She began her studies in the Sackler School of Medicine at Tel-Aviv University, after which she trained in Echocardiography in the University Hospital Nijmegen in The Netherlands. For 5 years she trained as a Resident in the Department of Pediatrics, followed by a 3 year residency in Pediatric Cardiology. Following which she became a senior Pediatric Cardiologist in the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center in the Netherlands. In 2010, Dr. Kapusta returned with her family to Israel.
Dr. Kapusta’s studies are equally as exemplarily. In 1985 she received a M.D. Degree from Tel-Aviv University which included a thesis: “The effect of epidural Analgesia on maternal thermoregulation in labor”. In the Netherlands in 2002, Dr. Kapusta continued studying, gaining a PhD. Her thesis was entitled: “Tissue Doppler Imaging: echocardiographic assessment of anthracyclines cardiotoxicity in children”. This is an addition to many certificates gained in Radiation Protection and Basic Ultrasonography and Animal Research. She is involved in national and international research projects mainly in echocardiography and studies on follow up of children with congenital and acquired (e.g.chemotherapy) heart diseases.
Dr. Kapusta has facilitated 11 operations and heart catheterizations in her hospital in Nijmegen and has joined Save a Child's Heart medical teams to Jordan, China and Tanzania, during their medical missions to those countries.
We are proud that Dr. Kapusta will be working with Save a Child's Heart in her new position as a Senior Consultant in Pediatric Cardiology, at the Wolfson Medical Center.
