Mischievous Medhi is a four year old boy from Nigeria. He was admitted to our ward for evaluation and repair of his congenital heart disease on April 24, 2009, through the “Save a Child’s Heart” organization.

With his broad smile and antics, Medhi charmed us all.

At the age nine months Medhi developed severe stomach problems and upon examination for this was sent to a Cardiologist. Medhi is the older of two brothers. He goes to nursery school. His mother is a merchant and his father works at the airport.

Medhi's heart defect is known as Atrial Septal defect (ASD) which is a very large hole between the 2 upper chambers of the heart that caused severe dilatation of the right chamber of the heart.

Medhi successfully underwent surgery on May 3, 2009 through the capable hands of Dr. Lior Sasson and his team. It was his fourth birthday. After a short recuperation period Medhi returned to the SACH Children's Home, to his friends and to all his activities with renewed vigor. He is scheduled to return home to Nigeria the last week in May.
