The first International Seminar on " Congenital Heart disease in Babies under One Years of Age"
Following the participant of Dr. Li Jiangm, the former Director of the Hebei Children’s Hospital (HCH) and Dr. Jianming Wang, Director of Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery at the HCH in the “Sami and Angela Shamoon Seminar on Congenital and Adult Cardiac Surgery” in Israel in October 2007 our partners in China decided to hold their first international seminar on "Critical Congenital Heart Disease in babies under one years of age”.
The seminar took place in November 9 – 10, 2009 at the Hebei Children's Hospital, Shijiangzhuang, China and was attended by Chinese practicians from the city of Shijiangzhuang.
Guest lecturers at the seminar were Prof. Edward Bove, renowned Pediatric Cardiac Surgeon from the University of Michigan and Dr. Lior Sasson, Head of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Department at the Wolfson Medical Center. Save a Child’s Heart Executive Director Simon Fisher was invited to attend the seminar and represent SACH in the event.
The seminar also marked the handing over of the leadership at the Hebei Children’s Hospital from Director Dr. Li Jiang to Mr. Ze Cui; an official ceremony took place to sign a Memorandum between Mr. Ze Cui and Dr Yizhak Berlovitz, Director of the Wolfson Medical Center.
In the Memorandum the two directors agreed to continue the joint activities of sending Chinese children to Israel for heart treatment, sending Chinese doctors and nurses for training in the Wolfson Medical Center and inviting Israeli medical missions to the Hebei Children's Hospital to work together with the local teams and operate on Chinese children with heart disease.
