ANGOLA

 

  Rossana Lopes Goncalves, Angola

 

Children from Angola

 

Rossana is an eleven year old girl from Angola. She goes to school and can read very well. Her mother works as a waitress in Bairro Azul and her father works at a gas company. Rossana stays with her grandmother when her mother is working. She loves to draw and draws beautifully. Rossana also loves to dance, read, and play with dolls. She lives with eleven family members in the same house and she always helps around the house.

 

 Anselmo Rodrigues Suzana, Angola

Anselmo us a twelve year old boy from Angola. Anselmo does not go to school because if his health situation. He has six brothers and three sisters. His parents work in the agriculture industry in specifically planting beans. Anselmo likes to cook and he can dance rival to Michael Jackson!.

 

  Liliana Lidia Tembo Narciso

Liliana is a one year old girl from Angola. She has three older siblings, two twins who are ten years old and a six year old brother. Her mother does not work and her father is a translator. Liliana is now becoming more and more active in the children’s home and is playing nicely with the other children.

Epfiana is a five year old girl from Angola. Epfiana does not go to nursery school yet because of her health situation. She is the only child, but lives with ten family members in one house. Epfiana’s mother and father work at the Luanda port, checking merchandise on the ships arriving to Angola. She is a very happy, friendly, and active child and she loves playing with hair of all types.

Edmar is a five year old boy from Angola. Edmar was brought to SACH last year and is now back for a second surgery to completely fix his heart defect. Edmar already had his surgery and he is feeling well. Edmar’s mother is a policewoman.

Emilia is a five year old girl from Angola. She has not started going to school yet. Emilia loves learning new things and playing with her friends.

 

 

GHANA

 

 Kingsley Tettey Bakai, Ghana

 

 Children from Ghana

 

Kingsley is a three and a half year old boy from Ghana. Kingsley has one sister who is five and a half and he lives in Accra. He was diagnosed at the age of two months after he was taken to the hospital dur to breathing problems. Kingsley’s mother is a hairdresser and his father is a driver. Kingsley does not go to nursery and he is regularly in the hospital.  

 

GAMBIA

Alhagie is a nine year old boy from Gambia. He is the second of four children. He lives in a small village, his father is a farmer and his mother helps the father in the field. Alhagie does not attend school as it is too hard for him to walk all the way to school. A teacher comes to his house and teaches him. Alhagie is a very friendly boy and the thing he loves most of all is football.

Woodley is a six year old boy from Haiti. He came to Israel with his aunt since his mother is pregnant and could not come with him. He has four brothers and sisters. His mother is a house wife and his father works occasionally outside of home.

Hezhan is a twenty year old young man from Iraq. He just celebrated his birthday and the thing he loves most of all is ti listen to music.

Ahmed is a four year old boy from Iraq. Ahmed has one brother. He loves playing but he really doesn't like having a bath, and whenever his mother says its bath time he runs away and hides from her.

Marwan is a one month old baby boy from Gaza. Marwan has five sisters and a four year old brother. His mother is a housewife and his father works in a coffee shop.

Reman is a one year and 9 months old baby girl from Gaza. Her mother is a housewife and her father works in a company. She is the only child in the family.

Mosab is a nine months old boy from Gaza. When he was one month old Mosab’s mother noticed he was blue while bathing him, and took him immediately to a doctor. Mosab was diagnosed then with a congenital heart disease and was referred to SACH.

Ali is a two months old baby boy from Gaza. Ali was diagnosed with a heart problem after birth. He has five sisters older than him. His mother is a housewife and his father is an officer.


 

ROMANIA 

  

 Mara Alida Michaela Burada, Romania

Mara is a one year old girl from Romania. Mara was diagnosed at birth. Two weeks later after a cardiac consult the diagnosis and need for medical intervention was confirmed. Since then she has been examined and has had echo cardiographs in hospital on a monthly basis. Mara lives with her parents and her almost five year old sister Ana in Bucharest. Mara's mother works as an advertising sales representative for a business magazine publishing group. Her father is a construction engineer.

 

 

 

RWANDA

Samson is a seventeen year old boy from Rwanda. Hi goes to school and chose to learn French in school. Samson loves studying and he is a good student. Samson’s father is not a live. He lives with his mother and one sister in Mayange city. Samson loves travelling, listening to music, watching war movies and riding his bicycle.

 

 

UGANDA

 

 Brian Kizito Njuki, Uganda

Brian is an eighteen year old boy from Uganda. He goes to school and he is a good student. Due to his illness Brian missed two and a half years of school. He has 8 brothers and five sisters. Brian’s father does not work and his mother is travelling around Uganda as a missionary. He cam to israel with his aunt.

 

 

ZANZIBAR

 

 

 Azmina Dude Hassan, Zanzibar

Azmina is a three year old girl from Zanzibar. She has one sister who is eleven years old. Azmina’s father is a farmer and her mother is a housewife. She lives near the beach in a town called Bwegou and commutes to the hospital by a “Daladala” – the common public transportation in Zanzibar – a small bus with wooden roof and wooden benches. Azmina was diagnosed by Dr. Alona Raucher during the SACH medical mission to Zanzibar in 2008.

 

 

 Khairat Mngwali Ali, Zanzibar

Khariat is a four year old girl from Zanzibar. She has four sisters and one brother. Khariat’s father has a small business and her mother is a housewife. Khariat is in Israel without a parent. She is taken care of by the Zanzibar nurse who is accompanying the group of children from Zanzibar and by the mother of another child from Zanzibar, Azmina, who is a friend of her mother. Khariat was diagnosed at the age of three months. During the SACH medical mission in Zanzibar in 2008 it was decided that she can travel to Israel for heart surgery.
