Save a Child's Heart invited to Present at the First Israeli Presidential Conference in Jerusalem
Save a Child’s Heart was invited to present its mission at the opening event of the Israeli Presidential Conference in Jerusalem, marking Israel's 60th anniversary. The event took place on May 13, 2008.
Following the speeches of Israeli President Mr. Shimon Peres, the Mayor of Jerusalem, Mr. Uri Lopolianski and Prime Minister, Mr. Ehud Olmert, and in the presence of dozens of heads of state and former heads of state including Former Prime Minister Tony Blair and Former President Mikhail Gorbachov, and in the presence of leaders of the Jewish world, a short documentary highlighting Save Childs Heart was shown.
Save a Child's Heart was presented through the story of 5-year-old Estub from Ethiopia who underwent open-heart surgery in Israel in 2007. At the end of the documentary Estub and her father Mujib (flown over to Israel especially for the event) were invited on to the stage by the MC, Ms. Yael Dan together with Dr. Lior Sasson who operated on Estub and saved her life, where a dialogue took place between the MC, Dr. Sasson and Estub's father.
