Save a Child’s heart (SACH) achieves its mission by working in cooperation with partners in countries that have children in need for life saving cardiac surgeries and/or other life saving procedures. These medical partners provide administrative and logistical assistance to SACH in locating heart-diseased children and bringing them to Israel for treatment.

The medical partners in Ethiopia are the Department of Pediatrics at the Addis Ababa University and the Children’s Heart Fund of Ethiopia. An additional partner who has supported Save a Child's Heart’s activities in Ethiopia is Children’s Heartlink, Minneapolis US.

5 physicians from Ethiopia have participated in SACH’s outreach training program, training in cardiac surgery, cardiology and pediatric intensive care. One of whom is Professor Abraham Haileamlak Mitikean, who trained in pediatric cardiology with SACH for a year, returning back to Ethiopia in September 2010. Prof. Abraham now works in Jimma University Hospital, referring children from this area in Ethiopia to SACH.

The medical partners in China are the Hebei Children’s Hospital (in the Hebei Province) and the First Affiliated Hospital of Lanzhou Medical School (in the Gansu Province). The physician working with SACH in the Hebai hospital is Dr. Jianming Wang, the Chief of Pediatric Cardiac Surgery.

Save a Child's Heart has held 7 surgical missions in China in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2004 and 2006.

The medical partner in Congo is the Pediatric Department at the University Clinic, Kinshasa, led by Prof. Dr. Joseph Shiku Diayisu. Additionally we have brought children over from Goma in Congo, through the organization Moriah Africa, run by Gila Garroway.

Save a Child's Heart (SACH) does not have a medical partner in Iraq. SACH works with Shevet Achim, a Christian organization that refers Iraqi children to the SACH program. Shevet Achim brings the children to Amman, Jordan be examined by SACH at a cardiology clinic held at the Red Crescent Hospital, facilitated by the president of the Red Crescent Hospital, Dr. Mohamad Al-Hadid, who is also the Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in Geneva.

3 children from Iraq underwent life saving cardiac treatment under the SACH program in the St. Radboud University Medical Center at Nijmegen, Holland in cooperation with the Friends of SACH in Holland.

Save a Child's Heart (SACH) has been working with Prof. Anatol M. Ciubotaru of the Republican Center of Cardiac Surgery (RCSS) in Kishinev, the Republic of Moldova, since 1996.

In 2002, with the support of Professor Arik Shachner from the Wolfson Medical Center, SACH established the foundations for future cooperation in Moldova and Romania.

In 2005 Dr. Giancarlo Crupi from the Bergamo Hospital in Italy began a program in the RCSS sponsored by the European Union and requested that SACH will join his team on a medical mission to Kishinev. The SACH team joined Dr. Crupi and on November 13th 2005 and began working with the Italian team in Moldova.

Currently, SACH is also supported by Dr. Oxana Tolsticov.

At the Mukased Hospital in East Jerusalem - Dr. Mahmoud Nashashibi treats children from East Jerusalem and in clinics across the West Bank.
At the Mubarak Hospital in Khan Yunes –Dr. Fathy Al-Rakib and Dr. Abdel Hareq Harb treat children from Khan Yunes. SACH Germany has also donated an echo-cardiograph machine to the hospital.

At the Alranteese Hospital Hospital in Gaza - Dr. Forijat Wida and Dr. Faiz Abu Shakalia treat children from the Gaza Strip.

Dr. Rula Awwad, who completed a four year fellowship in pediatric cardiology at the WMC through SACH serves as a pediatric cardiologist in the Caritas Baby Hospital in Bethlehem, Al Ahli Hospital in Hebron and the Beit Sahour Medical Center in Beit Sahour.

An additional partner supporting SACH’s activities in the Palestinian Authority is Shevet Achim, a Christian organization that assists SACH in the logistical coordination and transportation of the Palestinian children and their escorts to the Wolfson Medical Center.

12 children from the Palestinian Authority underwent life saving cardiac treatment under the SACH program in the Klinikum de Universitat in Munich, Germany in cooperation with Save a Child’s Heart Germany.

1 child from the Palestinian Authority underwent life saving cardiac treatment under the SACH program in the St. Radboud University Medical Center at Nijmegen, Holland in cooperation with the Friends of SACH in Holland.

7 physicians from the Palestinian Authority participated in SACH’s outreach training program, training in pediatric cardiology, anesthesiology and prenatal diagnosis.

During 2005 – 2008, SACH’s project in the Palestinian Authority, known as the ‘Heart of the Matter’, was co-sponsored by the EU Commission’s Partnership for Peace Program. This project is being continued in 2010-2011.
