Cardiology Training Orogram Pediatric Cardiology

 

 

The pediatric cardiology training program includes the following components: 

  • Clinical evaluation of patients, including heart patients, clinical work, preparation of patients for cardiac catheterizations and heart surgeries, follow-up of patients in the immediate post-operative stage in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and treatment of patients in the pediatric cardiac unit until discharge. 
  • Echocardiography, including performance and interpretation of echo Doppler studies and theoretical studies and instructed training. 
  • Stress tests and evaluation of arrhythmia. 
  • Catheterizations – cardiac, diagnostic and therapeutic catheterizations for children - performance and interpretation. 
  • Clinical departmental meetings including preoperative multidisciplinary discussions, departmental lectures and journal clubs. 
  • Rotation in cardio-thoracic surgical department and in adult cardiology. 
  • Cardiac life-saving procedures in children such as a trial balloon septostomy, pleural and pericardial top – mastering and performance.
